Case Study

One health system had implemented very little search engine optimization to their almost four-year-old website back in 2016. When I came onboard to help, I implemented a variety of strategies and tools to improve the hospital’s presence on search engines. The first was a heavy emphasis on quality content, supported by keyword insights from BrightEdge. Last, a complete website redesign with new content architecture and refreshed pages, top to bottom.

Results

Unless otherwise noted, the date range analyzed was October 2017 – December 2017 compared to October 2016 – December 2016.

Overall site performance improved compared to the previous year, with a large increase in sessions, much lower bounce rate, and an increase in engagement.

Sessions have continued to increase since the new site launched. Q4 2017 brought in 23% more sessions than last year.

Mobile sessions have also followed this trend, increasing by 47% YoY.

Organic Search brought in the most traffic (66%), and increased by 23% YoY.

Referral traffic also increased YoY (+22%).

Social increased by quite a bit, bringing in ~4K more sessions.

In 2018, the hospital website won the Interactive Media Awards “Best in Class” – the highest honor bestowed by IMA. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism.
